SQL Developer

£40,000 per annum

This is practically a greenfield opportunity, we require more structure with our data assets and how they flow through the business. We are looking for someone to come in and take responsibility for the development and maintenance of our application database, creating and maintaining an ODS to feed into this, and extracting datasets into a data warehouse that you will be responsible for creating and maintaining. You take a logical approach to solving business problems and are passionate about how data can improve our product and assist in making business decisions.

What you will be doing

  • Create and maintain an ODS, ETL, and Data warehouse
  • Take lead on how data assets should be structured for adding to our ODS
  • Help write and optimise in-app SQL
  • Extracting datasets into a data warehouse
  • Ensure performance, reliability, and security of our data assets
  • Provide support to users who have data issues
  • Work with our analyst to generate BI reports

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a database development role
  • Strong MS SQL experience creating queries and stored procedures
  • Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational databases
  • Skilled at writing and optimising large complicated SQL statements
  • Experience of debugging and performance tuning existing SQL procedures
  • Proficient understanding of using code versioning tools (Git / SVN)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience working with AWS services
  • Experience of building databases that service an application or API

Web Developer

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious and determined individual to help maintain and improve our API and web app. You will be working with the development team to produce API endpoints and front-end screens to facilitate native-app development, and to prototype new features. You will be able to make informed decisions when crafting a solution based on business requirements and not necessarily the latest tech.

What you will be doing

  • Maintaining and improving our API
  • Writing documentation
  • Writing tests to ensure reliability
  • Building and maintaining front end UIs
  • Implementing efficiencies and improvements from our SQL developer
  • Implementing designs from our design team
  • Prototyping new features
  • Creating, maintaining, and scheduling background tasks to serve the product (unix, queue-worker set-up)

What we are looking for

  • Strong knowledge of Laravel, React, Redux, and relational databases (MariaDB/MySQL)
  • Experience of writing tests
  • Proficient understanding of using code versioning tools (Git / SVN)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working in an agile team environment
  • You do not need to have a qualification
  • Eligible to work in the UK

  • Experience of CI/CD tools

Brawn Helpers 

Created to support powerlifting events, and all those who attend. Simply put, the Brawn Helpers make lifting better.

Each helper will be designated a role at the start of the day, ranging from supporting warm ups, to loading weights on the platform.
