Brawn, the trailblazing start-up revolutionising the fitness industry, is thrilled to announce that its visionary founder, Sohail Rashid, has been selected as the only British finalist for the prestigious Rainer Schaller Entrepreneurship Award.

The finalists of the 2024 Rainer Schaller Award represent a remarkable group of entrepreneurs who have demonstrated extraordinary innovation and impact in their respective industries. Sohail Rashid's nomination holds special significance as he is the only British entrepreneur among the finalists, and to be recognised alongside such accomplished individuals not only validates Sohail's game-changing ideas and relentless drive, but also solidifies the magnitude of his entrepreneurial journey.

By digitalising personal training and making it more affordable and accessible for members, Sohail Rashid has not only created a brand-new market but also established a unique value proposition with Brawn. This innovative platform effectively addresses the challenges of connecting members with trainers, reducing trainer churn, and helping PTs and gyms increase their revenue. Often referred to as the "Uber of Personal Training for gyms," Brawn is revolutionising the fitness industry by providing a digital platform that seamlessly connects trainers and members. Focused on tackling the problem of PT and member retention, Brawn enhances accessibility and affordability of personal training services.

Sohail's entrepreneurial journey includes several successful ventures, including Property Network, the world's first social media property platform, which went on to become part of Facebook marketplace. Recognised for this innovative work, Sohail was awarded the Coutts Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013. He later founded View My Chain, which became the leading solution for home movers, trusted by the UK's largest estate agency group and partners such as Zoopla. After exiting View My Chain in 2021, Sohail redirected his full focus to Brawn.

With an impressive background as the British champion powerlifter for three years, representing his country at the World and European Championships, Sohail's personal experience and passion for strength training are at the core of Brawn's focus.

Key industry advocates include Andy Caddy, CIO of PureGym, who recommended that Rashid apply for the award, and Matt Truman, Executive Chair and Co-Founder of Investment Company True, who shared his support for Rashid's entrepreneurial journey:

“We've seen the power of community-driven fitness and exercise through our investment in Zwift, the leading immersive cycling experience. Brawn's platform for strength training has the same community-led principles we believe are at the heart of the future of wellness.” said Truman. “Sohail and Brawn are making a profound impact on the industry, and it's an honour to support his journey."

Brawn’s bold vision, dedication to innovation, and the ability to solve a major problem have led to this well-deserved recognition. Sohail's entrepreneurial spirit and passion for revolutionising personal training are shaping the future of the fitness industry, positioning Brawn as a definitive leader in the field.
