Brawn has continued to strengthen the internal team, welcoming Jon Johnston an experienced industry director who has joined Brawn as a non-executive advisor.
Jon has joined Brawn to help scale with key accounts within the UK and overseas as well as helping to build better connections with equipment companies and manufacturers, as the company leads the industry’s period of digital transformation. The recruitment of Jon will help solidify the exponential growth planned for 2023 and beyond.
Having been a key player in the UK leisure industry for many years, being the former Managing Director at Matrix Fitness, which he left in 2017, to allow for more time to be spent with his young family and invest time in other areas of the industry. Since leaving Matrix Jon has been involved with several businesses as a consultant requiring strategic help and route to market advice. In 2019 Jon founded both Reiver and WKG brands, both focused on products but niche in their positioning, working with athletes and premium high end facilities.
Jon says
“I have a strong belief in the polarity of athletic conditioning and an interest in the start of digital transformation in the industry. Over the years there has been a gradual uptake in free weights and loaded movement, with more money being spent on these training zones, but less time of digitalisation. The industry requires new innovations to keep people engaged. Although it has been discussed for sometime, it feels like it’s the right time to establish ‘full tech usage’ in the industry. This specifically relates to what members receive, and Brawn is primed to do this. The younger generation expects the tech to be there, so as an industry we need to ensure it is! When Sohail approached me, it wasn’t a difficult one to commit too. Brawn will shake things up”.
Brawn has continued to gain huge traction since its launch at the Ministry of Sound in June 2022 with several high profile fitness brands embracing the product, and shows no sign of slowing down.
